Register interest now Block 2

Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-8pm

Location: Riccarton K1 Performance Gym, University of Canterbury

Autumn program is here with two sessions a week in the high performance gym

This year we have teamed up with the mighty Gravity Canterbury who will be introducing the new faces of performance MTB racing to the program.

Our own coach - Our own Gym - Our own sport

We have an experienced sports performance, strength and conditioning coach working with our own Mountain Bike Specific group every Tuesday and Thursday 7-8pm.

Who is this course for: Anyone motivated to improve. It’s fantastic for young riders developing strength, balance and coordination but also hugely important for older riders looking to undo imbalances our sport and work lives can create. Sports science has shown that strength and conditioning increases in importance as athletes pass 30 years old. Muscle mass and mobility is also vital for longevity in sport for older athletes.

Here at ALine coaching we are huge fans of nailing the fundamentals. When you follow the fundamentals through to their origin, they inevitably lead back to the human body. This is what our strength and conditioning programs are all about. Increasing your fitness, balance, coordination, functional movement and strength. Go faster, go bigger, use less energy and hold form longer. Muscle is also nature’s best crash protection.

Brand new, functional performance Gym - Awesome coach

Key Components Include:

  1. Screening - This component identifies dysfunction in our movement and helps identify risk. It also defines personal movement goals early on

  2. Testing - This defines the starting point and gives data to progression. It will also be the basis of our strength goals

  3. The program - As a team, the group works towards shared goals and drives each other to succeed under the watchful eye of our coach

  4. Re-Testing - The proof/reset

Our course isn’t about getting hench and building bulky muscles. It’s about bringing balance back into the body, undoing what the repeated movement patterns of our sport does to us and then building strength. This means we can move the bike more easily and hold form when things start to get out of shape.

We also have optional extras such as “on the bike sessions”, tech talks, bike set up, timed testing and trips away

Fatigue kills skill
— Move better - less fatigue
If you’re wobbly off the bike, you will be wobbly on the bike

Testamonials

Having a professional coach watching my movement and giving regular feed back as well as tailoring specific exercises to my needs has had a profound impact on both my riding and my general physical movement health. Not only am I feeling faster on my bike, but old aches and pains are greatly reduced and subtle imbalances in strength are being corrected. Highly Recommended!
— Gee Hallam, 43 years old, Enduro racer
At 46 years old with a family, my own Buisness and muscular imbalances from years as a builder, when I saw the ALine program advertised, I knew it would be a great way in to the sport I love. Not only has this program given me physical/muscular balance but it has also introduced me to a likeminded group of individuals who are all working towards the same goals. The group training environment makes a huge difference. If you want to set a regular training day just for your body, this is the one.
— Simon Barron, 46 years old, Old school DH rider discovering enduro
Relatively new to DH but really been enjoying racing. Working with the ALine SnC program has really helped my movement pattens and generate more force. Recently I hit Dream Line for the first time in Queenstown and that extra strength was put to good use. Recommended.
