Tech Talk 2 - Sports Psychology - Jason McKenzie
Date 18th November, 7.45pm Velodrome, Champions lounge $25.00.
What is sports psychology
What is the psychology of a champion
How do you prepare for racing through your training
These are some of the questions Jason McKenzie will address, as well as a question and answer session
“Lots of athletes wait until it becomes an issue before they seek help and support but the sooner you start the better. Training your body takes time, discipline and repetition, so does training your mind. Start early! ”
Words from the man himself:
I am a passionate Southlander, and New Zealander. I spent 10 year as a secondary school teacher, school counsellor and working in private practice as a counsellor. In the past fifteen years I have worked in High Performance sport in Athlete Life and Mental Skills roles (from talent development to elite) with a focus on wellbeing, personal development, and performance skills. I enjoy working with athletes to manage the pressures of life and performance.

Sports psychology is still relatively new to a lot of people, but more and more its importance and techniques are being recognised and absorbed. The brain is the top of the performance network, it’s the pilot system, it coordinates and makes everything work. Optimise the rational-thinking conscious-you for success.
This session will be talking place on the 18th of November at 7.45 at the champions room at the ILT stadium (up stairs above the velodrome).
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a goal, to book in, listen, learn and ask questions in a small and intimate workshop.
